Superstar Spotlight: Illuminating News from Stevens PTA | October 2025, Issue #1
A Season of Gratitude and Community

What an amazing start to the school year! Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we’ve had our biggest membership drive in years—doubling our membership from last year! Let’s keep that incredible momentum going as we head into November, the season of giving.

Our annual Pie Sale is happening now—order your holiday favorites and support both our PTA and a local business. The Spirit Wear shop is also open, so grab some new gear to show off your Stevens Superstar pride!

Next week brings our first evening social event of the year -- we can’t wait to see everyone at the Monster Mash and Trunk or Treat! It’s going to be a spooktacular night of fun for the whole family.

And finally, stay tuned for details about our Veterans Day Breakfast, one of our most meaningful community traditions.

As we move into November, we are truly grateful for the strong sense of community at Stevens. It’s a joy to work alongside such a dedicated team of families, teachers, and staff who make our school such a special place.

October PTA Meeting Recap

Our October meeting kicked off with a big win — we hit 200 PTA members! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who joined, and special shout-outs to Jen Coleman for leading the membership drive and Sally Draina for coordinating a smooth School Picture Day with iSmile.

The Board of Education shared updates on a new AI policy, Dr. McGrath’s retirement after 14 years, and reminded everyone to stay alert after a recent phishing scam targeted a district booster club.

Principal Vacca highlighted upcoming Phase II construction projects (including classroom renovations and gym updates) and shared ongoing efforts to improve lunch line flow. ParentSquare use continues to grow, and the new library reminder system has been a hit.

On the committee front:

  • 👕 Spirit Wear sales run through 10/19.

  • 🥧 Holiday Pie Sale has begun — orders due 11/5.

  • 🎃 Monster Mash is shaping up with trunks, treats, and fun on 10/24 — Book Fair volunteers are still needed that evening.

Mark your calendars for the parent social at Galway Rock Winery on 11/20, and consider sharing your talents for After-School Enrichment Clubs in March!

Our Scholastic Book Fair kicks off next week!
  • Monday, October 20 | 5–8pm

  • Wednesday, October 22 | 5–8pm

  • Friday, October 24 | 4–6:30pm, during Monster Mash

Students will preview books during library time, and families can shop at any of our evening events or during Monster Mash. This is a profit fair, helping us fund classroom magazines — and if we hit our sales goal, we’ll enjoy a BOGO Book Fair in the spring!

👉 We especially need volunteers on Monster Mash night to help run the fair, support student wish lists, and assist with confidential purchases. Volunteer sign-up link coming soon!

Families can also purchase books for teachers’ classroom collections and support confidential purchases for students in need.

The spookiest night of the year is almost here!

🍕 Pre-order your pizza — it’s the easiest way to feed your little monsters before the fun begins. Orders must be in by Sunday, October 19.

🚗 Want to join Trunk or Treat? There’s still room! Sign up here!

📚 We need of Book Fair volunteers that night -- costumes optional, enthusiasm required! Volunteer here!
