At our April meeting we highlighted many exciting activities and initiatives underway this spring. Shoutouts were given to Kara Egan for maintaining the Stevens sign and Chris Weiss for leading Lego League, which has grown to support two student groups.
Updates included progress toward next year’s budget, upcoming PTA nominations for leadership roles, and continued district momentum with the appointment of a new superintendent and a proposed budget staying under the tax cap.
Principal Vacca shared key school updates, including a capital project timeline now set for 2028, upcoming events like Field Day (May 18), and efforts to improve school climate through a new behavior initiative.
The PTA remains in a strong financial position and approved adding a third $500 scholarship for a graduating senior who previously attended Stevens. Spring events are in full swing, with the BOGO Book Fair, Talent Show (rescheduling in progress), Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4–8), Walkabout (May 14), and Spring Fling (May 29) all on the horizon. Planning is also underway for the 5th Grade “Rising Stars” celebration and additional community support efforts, including Field Day refreshments and the Senior Breakfast.
The meeting wrapped with excitement for upcoming programs like the 101 Dalmatians performance and a June assembly featuring Tay Fisher.
