Superstar Spotlight: Illuminating News from Stevens PTA, November 2024, Issue #1
Celebrating Our Veterans

The other week, we were honored to host our very first Veterans Day Breakfast in collaboration with our amazing teachers. The turnout was incredible, and it was heartwarming to see so many of our students, families, and local heroes come together to celebrate and honor our veterans.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this event's success – from setting up to serving, your efforts made it truly special.

As we continue to build community through events like these, I encourage you to join our PTA and check out the opportunities to get involved. Whether it’s a small task or larger role, your contributions help us create memorable experiences for our school.

Thank you for your support and dedication to Stevens!

-Nichole Harrell

At our November PTA meeting, we celebrated some incredible efforts and shared exciting updates. A big thank you goes to Marian Eck for organizing the Monster Mash and to Jen Salisbury and Laura Munkres for running the Book Fair, which raised over $9,000 in sales.

We’re thrilled to welcome Bill Vaccaas our new principal. He will begin shadowing Dr. Evans in December and officially take over in January. Plans are underway to introduce him at a PTA meeting or a special meet-and-greet.

Committee Updates:

  • Fundraising: The spirit wear and catalog fundraiser is in full swing, with items available for pickup before the holidays. The pie fundraiser also saw strong participation, with pickups scheduled for November 25.
  • Arts and Enrichment: Programs are ready to go, including the 5th-grade SPAC show, the 4th-grade "Don't Wait" project, and a motivational singer visiting next week.
  • Holiday Shop: Scheduled for December 6, with 14 vendors confirmed and volunteer signups opening the week of November 18.
  • 5th-Grade Party: The pizza card fundraiser is underway, with sales progressing well.
