Tournament Rules:
(View the rules in a Google Document HERE)
- Each game is 3 minutes long.
- The team with the most players remaining on the court after 3 minutes is declared the winner.
One-minute, sudden death overtime will be played in games that end in a tie after the 3 minutes of regular play. - The tournament is double elimination, meaning a team is out after two losses.
If an undefeated team loses in the championship game, a second championship game will be played since that will be their first loss. - Players are out if 1) they are hit by a ball thrown by the other team before it bounces on the ground.
2) they cross the mid-court line while throwing or retrieving a ball. - If a player catches a ball, they are NOT out, nor is the player who threw the ball. (*this is a change to accommodate the fast pace of these games.)
- Once a referee sees a player get hit, they will blow their whistle and point to the player who is out. That player must leave the court immediately. NO ARGUING!!
- Once a player is out, they CANNOT re-enter the game. If a player is caught trying to re-enter a game, their team will forfeit that game.
- Players must aim their throws at the chest and below.
If a referee feels a player is aiming their throws at their opponents head, they will be removed from the game immediately. - Teams will be announced prior to their match. They must come to the waiting area when called or risk forfeiting their game.
